Coldsnap to Present Eclectic Concert Series Featuring Locarno, Jeremy Dutcher, and Moneka Arabic Jazz

Prince George, BC – May 15, 2025 – The Prince George Folkfest Society is excited to announce a vibrant concert series at the Knox Performance Centre, showcasing a diverse range of musical talent from across Canada and beyond! This series promises to deliver unforgettable evenings of music, celebrating Latin rhythms, Indigenous artistry, and Arabic jazz fusion.

The series features the following performances:

  • Locarno – September 13th, 2025

    • Locarno, the Latin project of JUNO Award-winning musician Tom Landa, brings a captivating blend of Mexican and Canadian sounds. Born and raised in Mexico City and now based in Canada, Landa's music reflects his rich cultural heritage. With influences from Son Jarocho, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and more, Locarno's live performances, featuring a talented ensemble of musicians, are known for their infectious energy and fusion of musical styles.

  • Jeremy Dutcher – November 8th, 2025

    • Two-time Polaris Music Prize winner, Jeremy Dutcher is a classically trained tenor, Two-Spirit song carrier, polymuse, activist, ethnomusicologist, and member of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) in Eastern Canada. Jeremy’s music transcends boundaries: unapologetically playful in its incorporation of classical and jazz influences, full of reverence for the traditional songs of his home, and teeming with the urgency of modern-day resistance.

  • Moneka Arabic Jazz – March 21st, 2026

    • Moneka Arabic Jazz, led by Iraqi-born artist Moneka, presents a unique and captivating fusion of melodies from Iraq with African grooves and rhythms, blended with the diverse musical influences of Toronto. This project showcases Moneka's journey in art, from Baghdad to Toronto, and reflects stories from Iraq, connecting the past to the present with a vision for the future.

All three concerts will be held at the Knox Performance Centre (1448 5th Ave) in Downtown Prince George, offering an intimate and exceptional setting for these remarkable performances.

Tickets for all three shows are on sale now. SPECIAL limited number of season passes available for all three concerts for just $99 (plus taxes and fees)! Please visit www.coldsnapfestival.com for further details.
