Coldsnap 2024 Visual Artist - Emily Wilson

Emily Wilson (she/her) is an artist and illustrator living on Lheidli T’enneh territory in her hometown of Prince George. Her understanding of home is interwoven with the wilderness. Inspired by her daily life among the landscapes of northern BC, she creates playful artworks that explore themes of memory, place and human connection to nature. You may have recently seen Emily’s exhibition Up Around the Bend at Two Rivers Gallery, which took viewers on a folk art-inspired road trip along Highway 16. Emily has also shown her work at Island Mountain Arts in Wells and the Omineca Arts Centre in Prince George, and her illustrations have appeared around town in collaboration with local businesses such as Stride and Glide Sports and Top Drawer Yarn.

Emily holds a Certificate of Visual Arts from Vancouver Island School of Art, and a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science and History from McGill University. She plays piano, violin and guitar, and grew up attending folk festivals every year as a family tradition. Music is essential in Emily’s life, so she is delighted to have her artwork featured as part of Coldsnap 2024!
