COLDSNAP 2011!

January 21st– January 29th

  • Partnerships are now being solidified for the FOURTH winter COLDSNAP music festival organized by the people that brought 4 years of the summer Prince George Folkfest!
  • This is your invitation to join us for the event up to what will be again a premier cultural experience for B.C.
  • Westjet in-flight magazine in 2007 listed Folkfest in 2007 as amongst the best 18 Canadian Music Festivals!
  • COLDSNAP continued with providing the same quality of artistry and was a great success for our community.
  • CBC RADIO 2 BROADCASTED 2009 FOR NATIONWIDE CONCERTS
  • The Globe and Mail listed Coldsnap on its front page in the top 5 cultural events for BC in January 08, 09 AND 2010.
  • Many thousands of spectators have come through the gates in the seven festival editions, to share community time and see the likes of award winning artists such as: Sarah Harmer, Bruce Cockburn, Joel Plaskett, Matthew Good, Martyn Joseph, Sonny Rhodes, Alpha Yaya Diallo, Spirit of The West, Stephen Fearing, Daniel Lapp, The Lee Boys, Gordie Sampson, Corb Lund, Watermelon Slim and The Workers, Grupofantasma and many other international performers. The best of world beat, blues, jazz, contemporary and traditional folk, bluegrass, country, hip hop, modern rock and more….
  • January 21st THROUGH January 29th will see 9 days of music at different venues throughout the city featuring 6 main stage events and many other events featuring local artists especially.
  • This is an opportunity for our City to enliven our midwinter. Whitehorse, in the Yukon, has held their annual Frostbite Music Festival for many, many successful years and it is an event the whole city becomes involved in.
  • Very quickly the Prince George Folkfest grew from a great idea a few years ago into a highly anticipated all ages event. COLDSNAP CONTINUES THIS TRADITION.
  • It is a significant tourism draw used to hold visitors in our area for a unique weekend. It is a business opportunity to showcase community involvement and promote products and services to a keen audience. It bursts with global colours and sounds. It is a reality NOW brought to you by dedicated volunteers and sponsors
  • Not only is the event itself a prized public opportunity, but sponsors are also included in the many surrounding aspects of the festival – website, media, preliminary concerts, special announcements, volunteer activities, etc. – that it makes any partnership worthwhile. We welcome back valued returning sponsors and look forward to making new contacts.
