We are delighted to announce that the Coldsnap Music Festival has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the “Northern Pride” Award for Northern BC Tourism, recognizing eight years as a national festival.
The award will be presented to Jo Beattie and Conway Fisher in a ceremony at the Ramada Hotel on October 20. Beattie and Fisher want to emphasize they are accepting the award on behalf of all of the volunteers.
Says Beattie, “We will seize the moment to recognise this event for Prince George but also to highlight the work done by all festivals in the north and the need to support art events as part of promoting healthy communities in challenging times.
“Many of us involved in PGFFS are also involved working in social services. We recognise the hard times for many in our society BUT also acknowledge the need to have positive events such as ours as part of a balanced society. We strive to keep prices / costs affordable and with the help of sponsors we can do this.”
